An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Police detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were called at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals injured by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
